info@fayedance.com

Faye has undertaken training at the prestigious Pineapple Dance Studios in London and is qualified with the International Dance Teaching Association as a Freestyle Dance Teacher, achieving Distinction. Also, at the start of 2016, Faye furthered her dance teaching career, qualifying as an Acrobatic Arts M1 Teacher. Faye enjoys learning different styles, having undertaken many dance exams in styles such as Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Street and Freestyle.

Faye has been lucky enough to work with dance artists such as Flip Van Huffel and Ben Duke and dancers from Rambert Dance Company. During her time in London, she also took classes at Siobhan Davies Dance Studios. Faye has danced in venues across the UK performing and on occasion competing, including representing the South West in London with a dance company.

After qualifying as a dance teacher, Faye taught as part of a new Pineapple Dance Studios project called ‘Pineapple Community’. She worked with students teaching them choreography, performance and technical skills, resulting in a final performance at Pineapple Dance Studios in London. Alongside this, Faye teaches at a number of different venues in the South Hams including local schools and our very own studio at the HealthHub under the dance company she set up at the beginning of 2016, Affinity Dance South Hams. Faye, like the rest of our team is CRB (DBS) checked and has completed a number of SAFE CIC Safeguarding qualifications.

Faye’s main goal is to give others the love for dance and training that she was lucky enough to receive. ‘To be able to support someone’s ambition to pursue dance, whether it’s as a career or purely as a hobby is an absolute dream.’

Faye’s plans for 2017 include being given the fantastic opportunity to take a number of dancers from her dance company, ‘Affinity Dance South Hams’ to Pineapple Dance Studios to showcase their work in front of a number of prestigious guests and compete against other dancers. Also, Faye has started training as an Assistant Physio here at QuayPhysio.

Alongside her dance work Faye is studying to become a Matwork Pilates teacher, hoping to qualify in early 2017. “Pilates is a great addition to run alongside my dance, it has a vast amount of benefits addressing postural alignment, strengthening the core and improving flexibility and balance.”  Check out our Pilates classes.
