Physio & Founder of QauyPhysio, Clinical Lead ConnectTherapy & Clinical Pilates

Victoria is a true local girl, who grew up in Hope Cove and attended Kingsbridge Community College. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2001 and went straight to London to work at Guy’s & St Thomas’. There she worked with awesome Clinicians and made some Physio mates for life! Her last role before setting up quayphysio in 2009 was working for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Plymouth. There she treated service personnel injured at home and on the frontline.

In 2011, Victoria attended a Series of courses run by LJ Lee and Diane Lee which changed her practice for ever! This new, innovative and inspirational approach called the  Thoracic Ring Approach and Integrated Systems Model of Assessment & Treatment made total sense to her and changed how she practiced. It also made total sense to her patients too and the results have been amazing. This approach is very functional looking at what our patients can’t do or are finding  difficult due to pain/stiffness/inefficiency. It is a system of assessing and treating that looks for the underlying cause (or “Driver”) for the problem NOT just focusing on the painful bit. The results have been so great that Victoria has inspired both Leah and Wendy to take the courses and now the whole team are on the same page! Victoria also now regularly assists on the Discover Physio Series helping other Physio’s learn this amazing approach and develop their skills.

Victoria loves to move (often too quickly!) and is a very hands on Physio utilising her knowledge of optimal body alignment, biomechanics and control with relevant exercise therapy principles. She has other post graduate qualifications in acupuncture and is an APPI Pilates Instructor. She runs numerous classes from quayphysio. She also does one to one work and works with both small and large equipment. We are lucky enough to have a reformer and tower at QuayPhysio which is a wonderful (if not slightly scary looking) piece of equipment which clients love as it adds a new challenge to their existing Clinical Pilates repertoire.

Outside of  QuayPhysio, Victoria is busy expanding her shoe collection and running around after her little girl! She is also looking forward to developing QuayPhysio, it’s team and branching out with some new services…..watch this space!

Favourite Cake / Tea Time Treat: Has to be a yummy passion cake with heaps of orange frosting! Although tomorrow it may be a deep lemon tart. Got to love Delia!
